A decisively high-tech vocation

Starting in 1972 in the scope of Grenoble economic regional planning, inovallée continues to meet the objectives of the founding fathers of the park, which consisted in:

• encouraging setting-up of companies with highly technological aspect and ensuring vital local services
• promoting links between research, universities and industry
• preserving the quality and non polluting environmental nature of the zone
• integrating the life of this area into the everyday life of the municipality and its surroundings

... thanks to the sustained route of the accreditation committee

The success of the technopole results mainly from the line of conduct that the accreditation committee managed to stick to. Every month, it studies companies applying to set up office.

Accreditation criteria have not changed since the beginning: only innovative or technology activities, regardless of the sectors, constituting 70% of the park (advanced technology industrial production, R&D, universities, laboratories, research centres, SSII (Société de Services et d’Ingéniérie Informatique – Computer Service Company), etc.), and tertiary services related to them, with a 30% limit (lawyers, accountants, consulting firms, training, common services of the site, etc.) are accepted on the site .

Planners and municipalities have played the game to the full, managing to resist to the calls of the sirens during times of hardship, when part of the land had no purchaser. Their courage was greatly rewarded and the ino vallée success now confirms the unshattered faith of its founding fathers in the relevance of the concept.

The accreditation committee is made up of :

• the C.E.A. (Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique – Atomic Energy Agency )
• the I.N.P.G (Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble – Grenoble National Technology Institute )
• the A.E.P.I (Agence d'Etudes et de Promotion pour l'Isère – Studies and Promotion Agency for Isère)
• the C.C.I.G (Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de Grenoble – Grenoble Chamber of Commerce and Industry)
• the A.U.E.G (Alliance Université Entreprises de Grenoble – Grenoble University Companies Alliance)
